As the bodies start piling up, one of the friends, now a cop, will stop at nothing to put an end to the murderous rampage and to right...。从1998到2015年，是中国林业沧桑巨变的二十年。在这一阶段，顾长山收养了因公牺牲搭档的儿子兴杰，经过犹豫，顾家人最终还是决定供兴杰去外面继续读书。下岗危机，也以部分年轻人率先出走告终，留下的人，则在顾长山带领下，搞起“家庭生态林”，暂时解决生计危机。时间来到2007年转型走到新的节点，为保护生态、改善民生，深山远林区移民工程开始，923工队再次面临走出去命题。兴杰也被拉回大山，在化解家人危机后，兴杰接下动员移民任务，并在其中找到了自己的价值，他决心留下来，扛起林业改革的使命。之后在14、15年全面限伐背景下，兴杰积极响应“金山银山不如绿水青山”号召，带着一家人和更多林区百姓，朝美好的新生活奔去。。
