獵戶李吉、趙永安愛上寡婦荷花，荷花鍾情永安，卻遭奶奶孫寡婦阻撓及凌虐。永安欲獵殺藍狐一家，荷花阻止，兩人更在藍狐洞內共度一宵。孫寡婦得悉後，殺害永安，並欲剷除荷花腹中孩兒，幸藍狐報恩救出荷花。荷花誕下女兒月桂，臨終前交託李吉照顧。月桂長大成人，與樣貌極似永安的龍九斤相愛。宋三搶去荷花留給月桂的藍狐氈，藍狐氈有靈性，令其家人喪命，於是宋三捉走月桂。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。Documentary filmmaker Jan Sikl came across several hours of footage showing the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in private film archives. 53 years later, historical memory awakens from a long slumber with this reconstruction of the occupation, a cinematic adventure of a truly archeological nature.。
