一个台湾柔弱少年从小失去父亲，对武术比较向往，想当大侠，后来遇到了一个从武当来到台湾的老师，告诉他说世界上最好的武术在武当，妈妈便辞职带他到武当习武。在习武的过程中，柔弱少年被查出得了罕见的进行性肌肉骨化症(FOP)，少年已深深热爱上武当，拒绝返回台湾，继续留在武当学习武术，并且热心帮助在武当认识武校的家庭贫困的小朋友。后经中央电视台报道，全球华人给得了重病的少年捐款，少年临死前嘱咐妈妈，把所有的捐款拿去帮助当地有困难的小朋友及他的同学们。。影片讲述了生活在地方小城，自称年龄为16岁零42个月的四谷夏子和从小一起长大的友田鳞太郎一起去东京接遭受男友暴力的朋友miyu。两人请求在网络游戏上认识的朋友帮忙，三个人就像挑战角色扮演游戏中的终极战一样，突击了miyu的家。Joe Bell is a penny-pinching hermit saving for the day when his real life will begin.
